The Undertaker has a Lost in Translation moment with Bray Wyatt at WWE Raw XXX - Digital Spy - Translation

The WWE Monday Night Raw celebrated its 30th anniversary last night (January 23) and as promised, Raw XXX pulled out all the stops to make it a special occasion.

As expected, a host of WWE Legends were in attendance, with Kurt Angle having fun with DX and a clutch of past superstars enjoying a poker game.

But the Old School star who had the most to do was none other than The Undertaker, who has been absent from WWETV since his Final Farewell, which followed his retirement match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36.

On Raw XXX, Taker emerged in his American Badass persona to confront LA Knight, later taking advantage of the emergence of Bray Wyatt to get the former Max Dupri in a chokeslam.

After exchanging a glance with Bray, he flung Knight over to him, allowing Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail against his Royal Rumble opponent.

The Undertaker then got up close and personal with Wyatt, whispering something for his ears only, à la Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson at the close of Lost in Translation.

Taker and Wyatt, of course, have plenty of history, with their WrestleMania 31 match putting The Deadman back in the game after his streak-ending loss to Brock Lesnar.

Speaking of Lesnar, another return on Raw XXX came from The Beast Incarnate, who interrupted Austin Theory's US Title defence to ruin Bobby Lashley's chance of nabbing the belt.

No DQ? No problem for Brock. He hit an F-5 on Lashley, before hitting Theory with an F-5 on top of Lashley. 1, 2, 3... Theory retains and Lashley and Lesnar look destined to lock horns once more.

Elsewhere on the anniversary special, it looked as though Sami Zayn would be found guilty and expelled from The Bloodline, before Jey Uso saved his frenemy from a Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa.

Jey presented evidence of Sami's loyalty, giving Zayn a not guilty verdict... for now. A greater test will come for him at Royal Rumble when Roman Reigns faces Kevin Owens.

The much-anticipated Cage Match between Becky Lynch and Bayley never happened due to a beatdown on Bex from Damage CTRL, but we're hoping that it'll just be put on ice for now.

Similarly, it was a shame that of the WWE Legends, only Alundra Blayze was representing for the women's division.

Indeed, an Instagram Live clip of the Bella Twins quickly started doing the rounds, suggesting that the company was wary of mentioning the Women's Evolution because it didn't want to namecheck Sasha Banks/Mercedes Moné or Paige/Saraya after their exits from the company.

Another legend conspicuous by his absence was The Rock, who had been tipped to appear and challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.

It's, of course, still possible that Dwayne Johnson could make his return at Royal Rumble 2023 later this month, where a win in the Rumble match would set up a title clash at WrestleMania against his cousin, a match-up that has been long-rumoured over the years.
