NEW YORK and LONDON, February 18, 2022 /CSRwire/ - AccountAbility continues to expand global access to its principles-based sustainability guidance by announcing the launch of the Romanian translation of the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (AA1000AP, 2018). The new translation is now available for free download on AccountAbility's website.
The AccountAbility Principles have been applied for over two decades by organizations of all sizes and across industry sectors to successfully identify, prioritize, and respond to sustainability challenges to improve their overall, long-term performance. The AA1000AP (2018) serves as the foundation of the AA1000 Series of Standards and offers an informed update to the firm's internationally accepted, principles-based approach to sustainability management for the 21st Century.
The release of the Romanian translation of the AA1000AP (2018) would not have been possible without AccountAbility's generous translation sponsor and peer reviewer, who donated their time and expertise to advance the global accessibility of this critical sustainability guidance document.
The Romanian version of the AA1000AP (2018) was translated and sponsored by The Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania (CECCAR), with Dr. Mirela Paunescu, an Associate Professor with the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, serving as a peer reviewer.
"The AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (2018) represent a real foundation to raise companies' awareness about the need to implement resilience in business imposed by the new normal – which can make the difference between success and failure.
Continuous changes and the numerous challenges businesses have to face in the current global context have made it clearer that they will need to adapt and become more efficient and proactive in identifying, processing, and reacting effectively to key sustainability issues.
CECCAR is delighted to have contributed to the Romanian translation of the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (2018). With the mission to connect professionals to strengthen business resilience, CECCAR finds it important to promote these standards among Romanian-speaking professionals in order to help organizations in the creation of long-term shared value." Said Dr. Robert Aurelian Șova, President of CECCAR
"The AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (2018) are designed to help organizations become more accountable, responsible, and sustainable.
I am honored to have contributed to making these standards available to a Romanian-speaking audience as Romanian accounting professionals play a key role in promoting them and helping organizations to improve their ESG reporting practices and thus upgrade management systems for a more sustainable business environment." Said Dr. Mirela Paunescu, Associate Professor, Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
This translation announcement builds upon AccountAbility's Winter 2020 release of the Italian and French translations, the Fall 2020 release of the German and Simplified Chinese translations, and Spanish, Portuguese, and Bahasa Indonesian translations of the AA1000AP (2018).
